Favourably situated across from Amsterdam’s Central Station, this luxury hotel combines 5-star comfort with stunning architecture, culinary excellence and a prime location.

Uniquely composed of nineteen 17th century houses and a 15th century chapel, the hotel inspires admiration, from its impressive high ceilings to the towering marble pillars. The bright and spacious rooms have been tastefully decorated, boasting a modern entourage and all the expected frills. Fine dining can be enjoyed in the elegant restaurant Vermeer, graced with several international awards.

Such a central location and proximity to the station means that all of Amsterdam’s main attractions can be easily reached by foot or public transport. The oldest quarter in town is directly behind the hotel, combining the Red Light District and Chinatown. The NH hotel chain offers modern accommodations and facilities across 19 countries for leisure and business travellers alike.

All conference centres and smaller conference rooms are fitted with air conditioning, ISDN connections and can accommodate anywhere from 6 to 530 people.

Restaurant Vermeer boasts a Mediterranean cuisine and the atmosphere of the Golden Age. Here you can lunch or dine at top level. The restaurant has been awarded by Michelin and GaultMillau.

Hudson’s Terrace & Restaurant offers an internationally oriented cuisine and an informal atmosphere. On working days, the restaurant opens at 18:30.

Bar Mar-Dique is furnished in a contemporary fashion and opens at 17:30. The bar is widely known for its tapas and delicious cocktails.

The hotel boasts 270 rooms, including a royal suite, 4 junior suites and 12 apartments.

Accommodation is split between the refurbished 17th century buildings and more modern constructions. Many rooms feature an innovative split-level design, whilst rooms in the older buildings feature antique beams and oak ceilings. All are equipped with numerous modern facilities, including a direct line telephone, Wi-Fi internet access, double-glazed windows, air conditioning and cable television.

Situated in the oldest part of the city, the hotel is within walking distance of numerous attractions.

Canal Tours (0.1km) - Numerous operators offer canal tours leaving from the docking areas along 'Prins Hendrikkade'.

Anne Frank Museum (1.0km) - The former hiding place, where Anne Frank wrote her diary, is now a well-known museum. The museum tells the history of the eight people in hiding and those who helped them during the war. Anne Frank's diary is among the original objects on display.

Rijksmuseum Amsterdam (2.2km) - The richly decorated national museum of the Netherlands, dedicated to arts, crafts and history. Includes paintings by Jacob van Ruysdael, Frans Hals, Johannes Vermeer and Rembrandt.

Dam Square (0.4km) - Famous square with the Dam monument, Royal Palace and Madame Tussauds.

The reception was very friendly and informative. The business centre was convenient to use.

My room was facing the inner courtyard and was visible from the corridor. The concierge appeared to be somewhat unfriendly on certain shifts, which provided a sharp contrast from the reception desk staff across the entrance, less than 20 feet away. I got a distinct feeling that the unfriendly conceirge was ill at east in dealing with Asian visitors although I could speak good English to them.

no staff offered us to bring our big luggages while we were check in.

It is quiet so that you can sleep long without being woken up by cleaning staff.

The room could have been better cleaned. There were hairs in the bath tub and a lot of the furniture had a thick coating of grey dust. The reception on the tv was not good and every time the sink in or the toilet in the bathroom were used it resulted in a strong smell of sewage from the outlet in the bath tub. People at the reception were notyfied about this. Nothing were done about it.

Disparity in facilities provided such as breakfast included in room charges in some cases and not included in some cases. Most hotels include breakfast in the room charges.

helpful personnel, the rooms were really cozy (not as in tiny) overlooking the canal, really enjoyed been able to sleep up to 13.30 on the Sunday (late check-out policy)

Staff were helpful and location is great.

Decor of room and hallways, massively outdated, nowhere near 5 star standard. As a result I felt the hotel was poor value for money.
